About Our Sheffield Nursery
We are open Monday to Friday between the hours of 07:30 and 18:00, 52 weeks a year, excluding the bank holidays.
The nursery is close to Graves Park and we make good use of its amenities.
Successive Ofsted reports have been excellent and the 2004 inspection was equally complementary, praising the use of outdoor play, staff care and hygiene and cleanliness.
What we do at our Nursery
We care for children from three months to school age and provide education activities as soon as they are ready, to prepare the children for full time school. We teach to the Department for Education and Skills guidelines and also follow the Early Years Foundation Stage
Nursery Education Funding for 3&4 year old Children
The Government makes funding available through Sheffield Council, for children attending an approved setting such as Chantreyland Nursery in Sheffield. This funding becomes available in the school term after their third birthday, until they leave for school. The funding is paid directly to the nursery in three parts during the school term. Up to a maximum of 15 hours/week funding can be claimed for the school terms.
Our Nursery were asked by Sheffield City Council to forward the names of children who appear eligible for funding and the number of hours to be requested for the particular child. This process takes place three times a year early in the Council's school term.
